A Real Halloweentown Exists Where You Can Celebrate Halloween All Through October

The popular Disney movie is actually filmed in this quaint little town.

If you are one of those who wish Halloween was a year-long affair, then you are not alone. This year, we might not be able to don our spooky costumes and go trick-or-treating down the streets, all thanks to the pandemic. However, if you love Halloween as much as we do, then you will surely appreciate this month-long festival that happens in a real-life Halloweentown. Situated in St Helens, it is a merely 30 miles drive from Portland. This town celebrates Halloween throughout the month of October, reported Narcity

Going by their website, Halloweentown is going on as scheduled despite the COVID-19 pandemic and will run till November 1, 2020. Personally, Halloween is my favorite time of the year. It is one holiday where there is absolutely no stress about last-minute gift-buying and all you need to do is dress up in your costume, no matter how ridiculous it is.

So why does St. Helens celebrate Halloween throughout the month of October? Well, it was the place where the original movie was filmed and the residents loved the idea of it so much, they decided to bring the fictional Halloweentown to life. The town celebrates 'Spirit of Halloweentown' every year and the amount of detailing they show in the event will make you wonder if you are actually a part of the iconic movie.

The month-long celebration starts from October 1 and the entire area looks like a scene straight out of the movie itself. This is the town where Halloween never sleeps, or at least for a month. The family-friendly celebration includes costume contests, trick-or-treating through St. Helens’ Old Town District, a haunted town tour, and a lot more. The event kicks off with the lighting of the Great Pumpkin in the city plaza.

But the festival is not just restricted to Halloween decorations. According to a report by Delish, the fest also offers traditional Halloween snacks like nachos, homemade cakes and pies, caramel apples, chili, chowder, and Halloween candy along with mini-themed events like International Cheese Display, Bloody Mary's and Bagels with Marnie, Bloody BBQ, Halloween Cake Decorating, and I Scream Social.

Additionally, they also have a haunted house which is lowkey creepy along with a masquerade ball, a scarecrow contest, and haunted tractor rides. The famous giant pumpkin from the movie is also lit up, making the place look absolutely magical. Spirit of Halloween's Facebook page reads, "The Spirit of Halloweentown descends on Saint Helens each October. Join us for this long celebration of the season. See the giant scarecrows, fall colors and merchants turned to immortal forms as fairies, witches ghosts, and ghouls. We love Halloween and we let it show."
