Penn Badgley Accidentally Reveals 'You' Season 3 Is Happening On Netflix

The second season of 'You' was met with critical acclaim and now, the star of the show might have just accidentally revealed that the third season is on the cards.

It has been only four days since 'YOU' season 2 dropped on Netflix, but going by the looks of it, the preparations for a third season has already started. Yes, we understand that it is quite early to be expecting another season of the hit Netflix series, but the star of the show, Penn Badgley who plays the creepy stalker Joe/Will might have accidentally let it slip that the third season is on its way.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor accidentally may have revealed that there is a possibility of a female killer being found out in the current series. He said, "She doesn't appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn't appear to be the same kind of predator. She doesn't appear to be the same kind of... you know, dare I say, in the third season - oh, god!"

When he realized his mistake, Badgley slapped his head, but it didn't take long for reporters to jump on it and press him more on the possibility of a third season. Giving in to it, the actor said, "I literally know nothing about the third season."

The reporter then went onto ask if we are getting a third season and Badgley said, "Technically I can't... I mean, like, unofficially?" The second season has received some amazing reviews since it aired on Boxing Day, hence it hardly comes as a surprise that there are already talks about the third season. There has been a lot of talks and hype surrounding the latest installment to the series, even more so since the first season was such a huge hit.

The official synopsis of the second season reads, "What would you do for love? For a brilliant male bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring female writer, this question is put to the test. A charming yet awkward crush becomes something even more sinister when the writer becomes the manager's obsession. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to become close to her, even going so far as to remove any obstacle --including people -- that stands in his way of getting to her."

It looks like the creators and writers of the series have managed to strike the perfect balance between creepy and enthralling Joe Goldberg, a role that is played by Penn Badgley.

One person took it to social media wrote, "You season 2 is so good, haven't finished yet but I can definitely say they really did a good job. The plot is so absurd but all the characters are SO interesting. Candace is the baddest bitch, I love her."

Another one added, "Help, I can't stop watching You season 2. I am glued to my bed all night."

A third one quipped in, saying, "Just finished the new season of You. Yes, I've been up since 3 am and wasn't gonna sleep until I've finished... and let me tell you... that damn Joe."

'YOU' is based on the novel by Caroline Kepnes and the first season followed bookstore manager Joe Goldberg and his dangerous obsession with an aspiring writer named Guinevere Beck.
