The AHS boss even joked that the pandemic feels like a season of American Horror Story.
If you ask me personally, the ninth season of American Horror Story was not quite up to the mark. AHS:1984 might be the lowest-rated season of the horror anthology series and it didn't really feel like the AHS we knew. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to the tenth installment of American Horror Story and according to The Sun, co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed that he plans on shooting season 10 this summer!
Previously, the 54-year-old creator stated that the production of season 10 was halted like many other shows due to the ongoing pandemic and there is a chance it could be delayed an entire year. But now, Murphy is saying that the plan is still “to start shooting later this summer.” He took to Instagram where he posted a picture and made a joke saying that the current pandemic feels like a season of American Horror Story.
Murphy later invited his fans to guess what the tenth season will be about since the plot details are still being kept under the warps. Murphy wrote, "I’ll be sending [the cheques] out this week IF in the comments section you guess what the new season of American Horror Story is about (which we hope to start shooting later this summer). The winner takes it all.” Now it seems quite likely that the show will start its production in the coming months and will hopefully release around October/November this year.
The Instagram post also suggested that Murphy had planned out his ideas for this season. According to a report by The Wrap, he said, "I don’t know, because a lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show."
He continued, "I don't know if I'll accelerate another season or wait 'til next year to shoot this one. Until that day, everybody is kind of on pause, I honestly don't know. But it's a great season and I know all the actors are chomping at the bit to get into it, so that's all I know."
This made fans believe that their beloved horror anthology series might be delayed by a whole year or the 'weather-dependent' season might be changed to a different theme. The tenth season is all set to be shot in Provincetown, Massachusetts and we are guessing that the theme will revolve around ocean or a beach setting. The cast of AHS 10 was announced in February and Murphy also hinted that singer Ariana Grande could be appearing in the upcoming season.
We don't know for sure if Ariana Grande will appear in the upcoming season, but we do know AHS season 10 cast will comprise of series regulars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, and Lily Rabe. Macaulay Culkin became the latest addition among the stalwarts of AHS, along with Finn Wittrock.
