'American Horror Story' Season 9 Is A Terrifying Treat For 'Friday The 13th' Fans

The upcoming slasher season of 'American Horror Story' has released an all new teaser which only confirms that the 9th installment is highly inspired by 'Friday the 13th'.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for American Horror Story season 9? We are feeling a little too 13! Especially after watching the recently released teaser for AHS: 1984.

The teaser takes us further into Camp Redwood, which looks just like Camp Crystal Lake, and shows us the fate of the nerdy looking nice guy. If you have watched enough slasher movies, you already know what we are hinting at.

American Horror Story season 9 attempts to take us back to the terrifying '80s but instead, it just feels like a high budget parody of the iconic slasher movie with a low budget Jason Voorhees.

The previous teaser was nothing but a take at mocking Friday the 13th as well and we are sort of excited and disappointed at the same time. But then again, the last few seasons of the show have been quite unbearable so we're hoping this will be different, in a good way.

The cast of American Horror Story: 1984 includes Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, as well as newcomers Matthew Morrison, DeRon Horton, Zach Villa, Angelica Ross, and Ken Gusworthy.

Also, just to put it out there, none of the confirmed cast members have appeared in any teasers of the show so far, except the one which was released by Murphy on his Instagram to announce the cast.

The previously released teaser which gave us a glimpse into what the show is going to about began with a funky 80s beat playing in the background and a group of people going around in a vintage ride, yelling "Camp Redwood!" at the sign of the camp and suddenly the music fades and we see a masked guy clinging to the back of the car.

The focus shifts and we see the group of people having fun by the lake and a girl chilling in a bikini on a canoe. The killer appears from under the water and slashes the girl. So ORIGINAL.

There's no word yet if our favorites Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates will be joining the show but Evan Peters is officially out. "Yeah, I'm not doing it anymore. I just made a decision. I said to myself, "I can't do it anymore." It's not me. It's not who I am! I'm goofy, I'm silly, I like to have fun. I don't like to yell and scream. I actually hate it," he said in an interview. He, however, might return for the future season.

When asked by DigitalSpy if he would come back to Murphy's horror anthology, he exclusively told the publication, "Yeah, absolutely, never say never," he assured. "I just… Yeah, we'll see what happens."

So you know, let's keep our fingers crossed! As far as Sarah Paulson is concerned, she is most probably going to play a small role. She is set to play the main role in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series Ratched. Will you be watching American Horror Story season 9? It comes this Sept 16. Check out the new teaser below!
