The cast of the TV show 'One Tree Hill' is coming together in the holiday special movie "A Christmas Wish"
One Tree Hill fans are in for a treat this Christmas. A new One Tree Hill reunion is coming to “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” holiday special on Lifetime in the form of a magical and romantic Christmas film. The film titled, A Christmas Wish, stars Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer, and Tyler Hilton, who played Chris Keller on the show. This will be the third film the duo are starring in after Christmas on the Bayou in 2013 and The Christmas Contract in 2018.
Burton and Hilton will be starring along with Cristián de la Fuente and Megan Park in pivotal roles. The film also features other One Tree Hill stars, Lee Norris (Mouth McFadden), Antwon Tanner (Skills), Colin Fickes (Jimmy Edwards), and Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb).
The film has all the elements of a feel-good movie that you would come to expect to watch especially around the holiday time, snuggled under a blanket, with a hot cup of cocoa. The film takes place in a small town, Cedar Falls, where there is an annual tradition for people to write their true heart's desire and slip it into a box placed in the town square, in the hopes that it will come true. Maddie, played by Park, is Faith's sister who encourages her to slip in her wish. Faith, played by Burton, who wishes to experience true love for the first time, decides to take part in the tradition.
The next day, to Faith surprise, she happens to meet a very handsome and eligible Andrew, played by de la Fuente. Just as she starts to believe her wish has come true, she starts to wonder if he is actually the one for her. The film is directed and written by Emily Moss Wilson who is best known for her work in the thriller Nanny Seduction, Christmas In Mississippi and Hometown Christmas.
“It’s really empowering,” Hilarie told HollywoodLife. "Lifetime’s been making projects for women by women forever, and so everyone else is on the bandwagon now and that’s fantastic. They have been a natural home for us to kind of take that narrative back and say, ‘Yeah, we’re going to make content. It’s going to be nostalgic for our fan base, but it’s also going to be new and fun and lighthearted.’ You can tell that we’re having a good time.”
Lifetime has more than two dozen new original Christmas films lined up according to Entertainment Weekly, including, Christmas Reservations, A Very Vintage Christmas, Radio Christmas, and Christmas in Vermont.
