Here's Anthony Hopkins, 82, Gently Playing The Piano For His Cat In Isolation

The Hannibal Lecter star posted a video of himself playing piano along with his cat Niblo and it is the purrfect piece of content to warm our hearts in these trying times.

As almost the entire world has entered into a phase of self-isolation and quarantine, people are getting back to some of their hobbies that they haven't explored in a while. Celebrities are also following similar footsteps and we are getting to see more and more of celebrities' homes and how they spend their daily lives. Previously, we saw Justin Bieber dancing, Chris Martin singing in an empty room, David Spade doing stand-up in his living room, and Ellen DeGeneres watching herself on TV.

But Anthony Hopkins might have won this video posting game and has made almost everyone go 'awww' with his latest video. Best known for playing the role of Hannibal Lecter, Hopkins posted a video of himself playing piano along with his cat Niblo and it is the purrfect piece of content to warm our hearts during these trying times. The star said, "Niblo is making sure I stay healthy and demands I entertain him in exchange." The 82-year-old Oscar winner has spoken about how much he loves composing classical music on several occasions and released an album in 2012.

In a conversation with The Guardian in 2012, he said, "I've been composing music all my life and if I'd been clever enough at school I would like to have gone to music college. As it was I had to settle for being an actor." He has also introduced Niblo to his fans in the past and has frequently posted videos of Niblo and him being absolutely adorable together. As of this writing, the video has already been watched by 3.8 million people with over 247.9k comments.

At 82 years old, Hopkins falls into the category of people who are most at risk from the virus. A representative for Hopkins told Page Six that he is currently well, and has entered a 'totally voluntary and preventative' self-isolation. The actor's wife also confirmed that he is feeling well and has been staying at home with their cat 'painting, playing the piano and reading.'

Anthony Hopkins was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Oscar earlier this year, for his role as Pope Benedict XVI in the Netflix film "The Two Popes." Hopkins owns a home in Malibu, California, but it is not yet known if he made the video there. On Friday, California Governor issued an order where he asked nearly 40 million residents to stay home in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Almost entire Hollywood has entered self-isolation recently as the number of Coronavirus cases keeps increasing every day.

In other news, Hopkins resumed his fan-favorite role in the long-awaited third season of Westworld that has also seen Aaron Paul joining the cast.
