If you are Backstreet Boys fan, there is a pretty high chance that you would have listened to "I Want It That Way" on loop throughout your schooling years.
Boy bands have been around for as long as we can remember. From Jackson 5 to N'Sync to BTS, boy bands have seemingly always been a huge influence in not only for the American pop culture but also in global music space. But one band that has often been touted as one of the greatest, if not the greatest -- is the Backstreet Boys.
From 'Everybody' to 'Quit Playing Games With My Heart', every 90s kid would have swooned to these songs from this extremely good-looking and talented boy band. And now they are back again in the news -- and the boys have just released a song. If you are Backstreet Boys fan, there is a pretty high chance that you would have listened to "I Want It That Way" on loop throughout your schooling years.

And now, the band has unveiled an acoustic version of the song and fans cannot contain their excitement! You must be wondering why? Well, this is in honor of the Backstreet Boys' iconic album Millennium turning 20 this weekend. As reported by CNN.
"Each and every one of you has been the perfect fan and have made us feel larger than life," the band said in a letter to fans posted along with the newly recorded song. "Believe us when we say, no one else comes close to having as amazing fans as we do...We would never be able to say enough 'thank yous' but wanted to share a little something to show how grateful we are."
Milan is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve had the pleasure of traveling to. The cathedrals in the city are breathtaking. Got to see the Duomo again plus had a great meal with my #DNAWorldTour family. @backstreetboys pic.twitter.com/0NCyQakjvD— Howie D (@howied) May 15, 2019
'I Want It That Way' is indeed one of a kind, and all the awards it raked in after the release, is a mere testament to how iconic the song is. And it has also carved out a legacy in the music industry, as Billboard named it the greatest boy-band song of all time in 2018.
The band had earlier celebrated its 26th year together in 2019 and they have also been on a world tour to support their new album 'DNA'. The Backstreet Boys were touring in Portugal last week.
Ever since fans got to know that there is an acoustic version of the song, they took to Twitter to express their delight. A Twitter user said: Happy 20th anniversary #Millennium20 you always make great music see you soon handsome.
Meanwhile, another added: SO many good memories from that era. I can't believe it's been 20 years!! I remember running out to get the CD just like it was yesterday #Millennium20"
Another Twitter user said: My fav memory was skipping class to get the album. Also the Perfect Fan lyrics were used several times for mother days cards. Now when I hear the song I cry cuz she is no longer with us. It's been 10 years since she passed of breast cancer.
