The upcoming quasi-revival series will be without Luke Perry after the veteran actor passed away at the age of 52, suffering a stroke.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for new updates on the reboot of Beverly Hills 90210 on Fox and we've finally got a big one. The gang finally returns home as the highly anticipated reboot has a premiere date and we can't contain our excitement. The network has released a new teaser trailer for the dramedy and Fox has decided to premiere the show on August 7. The show went into production at the end of May, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Although it is only six-episode, it is more than enough to take us on a nostalgic trip back to the iconic 90s hit series. And we finally get to see the stars reuniting for the first time on screen. And the image of Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling, and Ian Ziering coming together has been quite heartwarming for fans.
“It’s about the characters behind the characters,” Garth told Entertainment Weekly exclusively. “It’s inside the lives of people that lived in those shoes for those 10 years, and it’s about them coming back together.”
Priestley said that the teaser trailer is akin to a homecoming. “Since all of us had been at one of those gallery shoots together, it had been 25 years, so it was really kind of special. We all had a lot of fun that day, there was a lot of joking around. They had a hard time getting us to actually focus and do anything because we were all messing around so much.”

The quasi-revival focuses on the "heightened" version of themselves that will be inspired by their real and reel life relationships. The upcoming series will be without Luke Perry after the veteran actor passed away at the age of 52, after suffering a stroke. He was last seen in an episode of Riverdale and his final shot had moved many to tears.
The official synopsis of the series reads: “Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Shannen, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian, and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself."
"What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?”
Ever since the original stars came back for the reboot, fans of the show have been sharing their excitement on Twitter. "So happy to see the whole gang back together and yet missing Luke Perry all at the same time. I can't!!!" a Twitter user said. Meanwhile, another fan had a legit question that many still wonder: "They're totally going to use Dylan's funeral to get them all together again, aren't they?"
Is this for real?!?! What’s gonna happen with Dylan’s character?? And Brenda will surely stay for the first season and then leave 🤣— Adrian (@AdrianMV) May 8, 2019
