The country singer has been working on a full-length Christmas album and plans on releasing it before the 2020 holiday season.
It's true that we are going through a very difficult point in our lives. There is so much we can do while stuck at home and then again, all the entertainment that is available to us starts to seem boring. Amidst such trying times, Carrie Underwood revealed some good news and said she plans on releasing a new Christmas album by end of 2020, reported Taste of Country.
The Christmas album will be out THIS year! Thankful for some good news in 2020! @carrieunderwood 🎅🏻🤶🏻🎄🎁❄️— Carrie Underwood Fan (@CUnews4Fans) June 3, 2020
Underwood announced this news during a virtual fan club party where the country singer revealed that she's been working on a full-length Christmas album and plans on releasing it before the 2020 holiday season. In the video, Underwood is sitting on her sofa at home and was heard informing her fans that she's been working on the album since wrapping up her "Cry Pretty Tour 360" in 2019.
Prior to this, she has released a holiday edition in 2007 in an album named Carnival Ride. She delivered several memorable hits like Do You Hear What I Hear, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, The First Noel, What Child Is This, and O Holy Night. Apart from this, the singer has not revealed any details about her upcoming project.
Her latest single Drinking Alone is doing quite well on the charts. Typically, Underwood hosts an in-person fan club party during the week of CMA Fest each year, but the 2020 event didn't happen because of COVID-19. Apart from this, the Grammy winner has virtually appeared for a number of televised specials including this week's CMT Celebrates Our Heroes: An Artist of the Year Special where she thanked all her teachers.
The singer's mom and her two older sisters are all teachers. During the broadcast, Underwood said, "There was no playbook for this. There was no lesson plan." Later on, she explained how amazingly these seven educators have adapted their jobs to virtual learning during the Coronavirus pandemic. Underwood also participated in ACM Presents: Our Country where she performed her current single Drinking Alone while she was sitting on the couch and drinking from a glass of wine.
Before her performance, Underwood said, "I'm sorry we can't all be together in person, but I'm glad we can all find ways to be connected. Just remember, we're not really alone. We are alone, together, and that is exactly how we are gonna get through this mess."
In March 2020, Underwood released her first book FIND YOUR PATH: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life. In an interview with PEOPLE, she said, "Fitness and healthy living have been a passion of mine for years. It took time to find my way and navigate my wellness journey, and this book will provide tips and tools to help the reader find what is practical and sustainable in his or her everyday life for all 52 weeks of the year, and help lead them toward a positive lifestyle."
