'Clueless' Is Coming Back To Theaters Once Again For 25th Anniversary

The 1995 hit comedy has achieved a cult following over the years and now fans get to re-live the experience once again on the big screen.

Regarded as one of the iconic teen movies of all time, Clueless is coming back to the big screen once again to celebrate its 25th anniversary, reported Entertainment Weekly. Released in 1995, the movie has earned a massive number of fans over the years and now, in its celebration to reaching its 25th-year mark, the teen classic directed by Amy Heckerling, starring Alicia Silverstone, is heading back to theaters for a three day run this May.

Fathom Events, along with Paramount Pictures, have come together to screen the special anniversary showings at about 700 theaters in North America on May 3,4, and 6. The special screening will also include a pre-show presentation that will explain in detail the iconic slangs of the movies which are still very much prevalent in American culture. After its original release, the movie went on to become a massive hit and grossed more than $56 million in the box office and received positive reviews from both the critics and the audience. The movie still remains to be a popular one and you can hear people quoting various lines from the movie to this date.

Apart from the lead actor Alicia Silverstone, the movie also includes a stellar star cast that comprises of Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Wallace Shawn, Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, and Jeremy Sisto. If you are planning to grab the tickets of the Clueless screening once again, then you can get them at the Fathom Events website and hopefully, you will find one at a location near you.

Fathom Events released a statement regarding this event, saying, "Whether you're seeing it for the first or the hundredth time, Clueless remains one of the funniest and most charming movies — while never losing its satirical bite or wonderful view of the world as it existed 25 years ago. 'We couldn't be more delighted to bring it back to the big screen if Cher herself had asked us," reported Daily Mail.

The movie is based on Jane Austen's novel named Emma. The story follows the life of Cher Horowitz who is a rich, beautiful girl who views herself as a matchmaker. In the beginning, she manages to coax two teachers into dating each other. As this happens, she feels a rush of success and excitement and decides to befriend style-less new student Tai Frasier (Brittany Murphy) and give her a makeover.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, "Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was -- and falls for him."
