'Two And A Half Men' Star Conchata Ferrell Is On Respirator After Suffering Heart Attack

The 77-year-old actor is best known for playing the role of sharp-tongued housekeeper Berta in the long-running sitcom Two and A Half Men.

Two And A Half Men actor Conchata Ferrell has been admitted to the hospital and is currently on a respirator after suffering a heart attack, reported PEOPLE. The 77-year-old actor, who is best known for playing the role of sharp-tongued housekeeper Berta in the long-running sitcom Two and A Half Men, was recently moved to a long-term care facility after spending four weeks in the ICU, her husband told TMZ

She spent more than four weeks in ICU during which time she went into cardiac arrest, which lasted for 10 minutes. Even though her condition is stable as of now, she is semi-conscious and unable to speak or communicate. Her husband also mentioned that while he keeps on getting regular updates from Ferrell's nurse, he can't visit his wife due to Coronavirus guidelines. Her husband Arnie Anderson confirmed the actress' health issues have nothing to do with Coronavirus.

Since the news broke, people on Twitter have been praying for her good health and speedy recovery. One person wrote, "Berta character she played on Two and a Half Men kept me going with the show once sheen ditched the show. Hope she recuperates fully." Another one added, "Sending prayers for healing and recovery. She was so great on that show! Loved her sarcasm and quick wit! A third user quipped, "I'm hoping that she makes a speedy recovery. My thoughts are with her and her family."

Anderson said, "It's going to be a while before there's any recovery. "It's all neurological. There's nothing we can do to speed it up the process. We are hoping for the best." In a conversation with TMZ in February, the actress said that she was admitted previously because of a kidney infection in December 2019 in Charleston, West Virginia. It happened while she was vacationing at her home during Thanksgiving.

The infection spread pretty quickly and contaminated her blood. Ferrell spent a few weeks in the ICU before she was released and was transferred to transitional care in January. She spent the rest of the month in bed while recovering. She also had to do physical therapy multiple times a day.

Apart from Two and A Half Men, Ferrell has also appeared in numerous other TV shows and movies like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Ranch, and Erin Brockovich. Ferrell earned two Emmy nominations for her work in Two and A Half Men and another one for her work in L.A. Law. Born on March 28, 1943, Ferrell has had an illustrious career spanning over six decades. She began her career on stage as a member of the Circle Repertory Company.

Later on, she appeared in the original Off-Broadway cast of Lanford Wilson's The Hot l Baltimore and won the Drama Desk, Obie and Theatre World Best Actress Awards for her performance in The Sea Horse. In 1992, Ferrell received her first Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her recurring role as Attorney Susan Bloom on L.A. Law
