The touching story was shared by Mike Levy, a passenger sitting beside the dad in the flight.
Christmas is a time nobody wants to spend alone and it's definitely not the time this dad envisioned for his daughter. So he did the best thing he could - flew with her to keep her company on Christmas eve. The moving story was shared by Mike Levy, a 31-year-old man from Toledo, Ohio, via a viral Facebook post that warmed the hearts of thousands of people across the country. According to ABC News, Levy was flying the Delta Airlines flight DL2494 from Fort Myers to Detroit on December 24 when he sat beside Hal Vaughn who used her daughter Pierce Vaughn's employment benefits to fly for a special reason.
Levy told the outlet: "I asked if he was going home or on vacation and he said his daughter was a flight attendant and so he was just flying around with her. She had to work and her father just followed her around the country. I thought that it was extremely special of him to do for his daughter, so that she didn’t have to spend Christmas Eve alone,” he added. The passenger also said that he had never heard of anyone doing something like this before and decided to take a picture of the father-daughter duo and shared it on Facebook. Since then the post has received over 213k reactions and 41k shares.
"I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home," Levy wrote. "His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas. Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her. So, he is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. What a fantastic father! Wish you both a very Merry Christmas!" Levy also talked about how his decision to share the tale made the dad an instant celebrity. "As I was sitting there waiting for the person next to me to come on the plane, I was hoping it would be some kind of celebrity and I ended up making him celebrity instead," he quipped.
