Remember the 1998 Disney movie in which people lived in a dreamy Halloweentown and all you wanted was to go there? Well, now you CAN!
This is not a drill! The town of your dreams, the town from Disney's classic Halloween movie Halloweentown exists in real life and if you are a fan of the movie or a major Halloween lover in general, you need to pack your bags RIGHT NOW!
The small town where the original movie was filmed, loved the idea of a town that celebrates Halloween so often, they decided to bring the fictional Halloweentown to life. Ever wished you could go to Halloweentown? Well, now you can and they decorate it with such details every year that you'll feel as if you are a part of the iconic movie yourself!
St. Helens, Oregon celebrates the 'Spirit of Halloweentown' every year and it is Halloween there throughout October! The month-long celebration of the Disney movie kicks off every 1st and the whole town becomes like a scene straight from the TV movie we all grew up watching.
In fact, they have recreated the same giant pumpkin from the film and it looks EXACTLY like the original and obviously, the annual Halloweentown fest is a HUGE hit among the fans.
The fest is not just limited to Halloween decorations, it offers delicious Halloween themed food as well! According to Delish, the Halloween mega gathering offers traditional fall eats like nachos, homemade cakes and pies, caramel apples, chili, chowder, and Halloween candy.
Plus, there are also mini themed events which run throughout the month like - International Cheese Display, Bloody Mary's and Bagels with Marnie, Bloody BBQ, Halloween Cake Decorating and I Scream Social.
There is also a Haunted House, which is terrifyingly creepy, but of course, that goes without saying since it is in Halloweentown. Other attractions of Spirit of Halloween fest include masquerade ball, a scarecrow contest, and haunted tractor rides.
The giant pumpkin is also lighted up, taking the celebrations to another level. As I said, the festival is an annual thing which begins on October 1 so if you wanna go, you still have plenty of time to book your tickets.
'The Spirit of Halloweentown descends on Saint Helens each October. Join us for this long celebration of the season. See the giant scarecrows, fall colors and merchants turned to immortal forms as fairies, witches ghosts, and ghouls. We love Halloween and we let it show,' reads Spirit of Halloween's Facebook page.
