Disney Is Remaking Christmas Classic 'Home Alone' And The Internet Is Furious

For their latest streaming service Disney+, Disney is messing with one of the most perfect movies to ever exist remaking 'Home Alone' along with other classics we grew up with.

No one:

Literally no one:

Who in their right mind wakes up one day and thinks - "You know what time it is? It is time to remake Home Alone." Disney has announced that it is remaking the classic Christmas movie we all grew up watching and the whole world is asking the same question - WHY.

The remake is getting developed for Disney's latest streaming service Disney+ and I'm not sure THAT is the best idea to attract new customers. Starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O'Hara, Home Alone is a timeless classic which never gets old and makes you laugh every time you watch it. Still, Disney feels the need to remake the perfect movie and I am not sure why.

As of yet, Disney hasn't revealed any cast or plot details but Macaulay Culkin is ready to be back *wink wink.* Joining the worldwide backlash Disney is currently facing after the announcement of the remake, Culkin shared a photo of himself on Twitter, giving everybody a glimpse of how the Home Alone remake will turn out! Here's your stupid remake, ya filthy animals!

In addition to Home Alone, Disney is also targetting other classics we all love like Night at the Museum, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. "We are also focused on leveraging Fox's vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our... platforms -- for example, reimagining 'Home Alone,' 'Night at the Museum,' 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' for a new generation on Disney+," CEO Bob Iger said in a press release. Basically, Disney is trying to ruin our childhood and it is not OKAY.

Disney has been obsessed with remaking movies lately and it is getting kind of annoying now. Sequels to movies which really deserve to rest and live-action remakes of movies no one asked for, Disney is definitely running out of ideas.

The Lion King, Aladdin, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland - literally every classic has been adapted into a live-action movie with Mulan set to release next year.

The Little Mermaid is set to get a live-action movie as well. Comedian and writer Melissa McCarthy, famous for Life of the Party, Identity Thief, and Bridesmaids, has been approached by Disney to play the role of the iconic villain Ursula. The deal is still in early talks but we can already see Melissa nailing the character. She's the perfect fit! One Direction's Harry Styles has been approached by Disney to play prince Eric.

Singer Halle Bailey from Chloe x Halle has been tapped by Disney to play Ariel in the live-action movie. Other actors who will be playing parts in the movie are Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina. Rob Marshall, who very successfully managed to bring back the magic to Mary Poppins Returns, is now working on resurrecting Ariel so maybe it will be actually good. Plus, to the joy of longtime fans of the old movie, the remake feature old original songs along with the new ones. Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda are working on new tunes for the live-action movie. What do you think of all the remakes Disney is throwing at us?
