Feel, a company that makes multivitamins, put out an ad recently for a job to test their latest product's effectiveness "in generating healthy nutrients." The requirement is for 3 people to eat 'beige' food for a month, along with their product.
What if I told you that you could eat all the chicken, pasta, peanut butter, and fried potatoes you wanted while getting paid to do so? Some of you probably think that I am just making all this up. Others have probably read the news lately or checked out some of the unique job listings to tell me that it's probably one those requirements that come once in a while for work in a company that otherwise hardly fits the bill for a job!
Well, if you guessed the latter, you are right! Because this is a dream job, especially for people who love their junk food and who love to gorge on it just about anytime. This is your one chance to actually tell your parents or partners that you are eating to LITERALLY put food on the table! A multivitamin company named Feel wants to test its latest product with the goal to "make people healthier, happier and more productive."
A description of the job on the company's website reads: There are all sorts of weird and wonderful jobs out there, but could you ever imagine getting paid just to eat? Well, now you can! Feel wants to hire 3 people from the general public. However, these 3 need to "already eat a poor diet, to simply continue to eat ‘beige’ food." When they say beige food, it simply means food that is beige in color, like the junk food mentioned above.
The three will have to consume one multivitamin per day provided by the company while they feast on the food of their choice. With regards to the payments, the company says: We’re willing to pay the right candidates £5,000 ($6285) each. The company wants to test whether their multivitamin "is effective in delivering 18 key vitamins and minerals." Apart from the payment, you will also be a designated "Vitamin Taster". How's that for work pride?
The company added: As a ‘vitamin tester’, you will need to continue to eat a non-balanced diet for 30 days, consisting of mostly ‘beige’ foods like white bread, chicken, eggs, pasta and rice, under the ongoing supervision of a qualified nutritionist and doctor, who will make sure you’re meeting your individual required calorie and macro targets. We will test the nutrient levels of the successful applicants before they begin the month research period, and then afterward, to see whether the multivitamin was effective in generating healthy nutrient levels.
People who want to apply for this job must be 18 years old and should also not have any history of or current health conditions. People who are undergoing some kind of treatment are also disqualified from applying. Those allergic to any of the ingredients in the product will also not be allowed to participate. While advertising for the job, the company also cautioned: We do not endorse or want to encourage replacing a healthy diet with vitamin supplements, which is why only people who already eat a poor diet will be considered for the role.
