Every year, around Christmas, along with the joy and festivities, comes the much-heated debate - "Which Christmas movie is the best?" While some prefer the old school Christmas movies and watch them every year as a part of their 'Christmas tradition,' many prefer to binge on modern-day Christmas movies on Netflix. The difference in the opinion of people always lands them on the big question, causing a low key drama on social media where people stand up for their respective favorite holiday movie and try to tell others why it is the best one ever.
An online poll was conducted to settle the heat and find an answer for once and for all. People were asked to vote for their favorite PG Christmas movie or add their movie to the list if it wasn't there already. The internet has spoken and has crowned the 2003 movie 'Elf' as the best family Christmas movie of all time. The Christmas fantasy comedy is a classic directed by Jon Favreau and written by David Berenbaum. Starring Will Ferrel, the movie grossed over $220.4 million worldwide and is still one of the most watched Christmas movies on various online streaming platforms.
In fact, this movie which revolves around the story of an elf who discovers that he is, in fact, a human, is so very loved by the people, they are now buying elf inspired shoes and accessories for the Christmas season! Yes, you heard that right. A company called LOEWE has launched pointy, elf-like-shoes and despite them being well, quite expensive, most of their shoes have already sold out!
"The elf-like design is immediately playful and comes with suede paneling, leather trims, and white contrast lacing. Soft padding at the ankles ensures this high-top design is comfortable from toe to heel. Show yours off along with printed miniskirts and downtime denim alike," reads the product description on the website. The elf-y shoes are available in various other colors as well if green is not your poison.
Second up on the list is Home Alone, another classic Christmas movie we all love and hold close to our hearts. The 1990 movie gave us all a good laugh when it was released and secured a sure spot on our Christmas watch list. Home Alone, however, is a more commercially successful movie than Elf, doing a business of about $476.7 million worldwide. The series also has three sequels.
