After the success of 'A Royal Romance', Lifetime is bringing a sequel and we can't get over how much the actors look like the Royal couple!
"Wait...is that Meghan Markle actually playing the role?" Nah. The Duchess of Sussex is pregnant and has much better things to do but yes, there is absolutely no denying that the actress Lifetime has chosen to play Markle looks so much like her! After the major success of Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, which was released last year, Lifetime is bringing you the next installment of the TV movie which revolves around everybody's favorite royal couple. Love is in the air indeed!
Ever since Harry and Meghan got married, the royal couple has been in the news for some reason or the other. Meghan's popularity has shot up and while most absolutely adore her, some believe she will be the reason behind the family's downfall (Hmm, I wonder why that is). Grabbing the opportunity, Lifetime created the drama everybody wished to see and now, it is time for Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.
While the first movie was all about their journey from coming across each other to falling in love, the upcoming sequel will pick up events from where the first left. "Chronicling the courtship and love story between a beloved prince and his new fiancée, the film will examine the history of Prince Harry (Murray Fraser) and Meghan Markle (Parisa Fitz-Henley) from the moment they met after being set up by friends, through their initial courtship when they were able to keep their romance under wraps, and ultimately the intense global media attention surrounding their relationship and Meghan’s life as a divorced American actress," reads the premise of the first movie.
Becoming Royal will cover the changes that took place in Meghan's life before and after she officially became a royal. Lifetime has not only revealed that the movie will be dropping this spring, but they have also released few new pictures and fans can't stop obsessing over them. Charlie Field and Tiffany Marie Smith are playing the newly wedded royals in the movie and they are going to make you wish you were 1% as lucky as Meghan.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, screenwriter Scarlett Lacey teased some details about the upcoming sequel, "The wedding certainly looms large. Like any movie in the wedding genre, however, the buildup and the aftermath matter as much as the wedding itself . . . This film deals with the drama of planning a wedding: the moment you’d much rather elope, the moment your family might mess it all up—and they nearly do!"
"The moment you actually walk down the aisle, the moment you first wake up as husband and wife, the realities of your new life hitting you hard, the first big fight, the first big make-up.” Tiffany also revealed how it felt to live life from Meghan's POV, “That was probably one of the most surreal days of shooting for me—just putting the dress on and the tiara...It kind of kicks things off. So that was kind of fun and weird. I was acting as Meghan as an actress.”
Smith has also teased that the movie will address the special bond Kate and Meghan share. "We got to do some stuff with Kate, which I really liked. I think one of the biggest things, obviously, about Meghan is that she’s such a supporter of other women and women’s empowerment. That was something I think was important for all of us to focus on, myself included.”
Directed by Menhaj Huda, Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal is set to premiere this May 27. I will be more than ready, and waiting with a giant tub of popcorn. Will you be watching?
