It's Official: 'Hellraiser' Is Getting A Reboot By 'The Dark Knight' Writer David S. Goyer!

Clive Barker's original masterpeice is getting a much deserved reboot aften multiple sequels by Batman writer and we are living for it.

Are you a fan of Pinhead? Who isn't! Hellraiser, the British horror film written and directed by Clive Barker is an absolute masterpiece and still remains one of the most watched horror movies ever, especially around Halloween. Released in 1987, based on Barker's novella The Hellbound Heart, the movie was so widely loved that Pinhead emerged as a horror icon and Hellraiser turned into a full-fledged franchise with TEN sequels, comic books, book adaptations, and every other possible media. Now, after a span of thirty-two years, the original Hellraiser is getting a revival.

According to Variety, Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group has got hands-on Barker's original Hellraiser and is all set to reboot the cult classic. Not only that, but David S. Goyer, the writer, and producer behind almost every Batman movie from the Dark Knight to Batman VS Superman, is on board with the reboot and will be writing the script for the movie as well as producing it. Remember the blood and gore from the original? Now, imagine that in 1080p and the tech of today. It's a big YES from me.

However, the reboot will be a reimagining of the first movie and will be based on it, “loyal, yet evolved reimagining” Barber announced talking about the sequel. “Clive and I go back more than 30 years together. For generations, his brilliantly twisted and imaginative ‘Hellraiser’ haunted the minds of moviegoers with its searing imagery of Pinhead. David is the perfect storyteller to continue Clive’s vision for a new theatrical version of ‘Hellraiser.’ ”

“I’ve been a fan of Clive’s work since the original Books of Blood paperbacks and ‘The Hellbound Heart’ novella. Having the chance to reimagine Pinhead and the Cenobites for a new audience is a nightmare-come-true. Gary is a true fan as well and we’re committed to making something dark and visceral," he added. As per the cast, all other details have been kept under hush-hush and we're actually looking forward to a reboot for the first time ever!

Because there have been a LOT of sequels, more than what was needed. After Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Hellraiser V: Inferno, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, Hellraiser: Deader, Hellraiser: Hellworld, Hellraiser: Revelations, andHellraiser: Judgment, we're getting a reboot of the original and the announcement of the same has received mixed reactions from the fans. While some are all for it, some are saying they should put Pinhead to rest altogether.

Another cult classic getting a reboot after decades is the witchy masterpiece The Craft. According to BloodyDisgusting, one of the biggest producers of the horror scene who has produced pretty much every brilliant horror flick there is - Get Out, Sinister, Insidious, Purge, Paranormal Activity, and the latest blockbuster Halloween is all set to revive the official must-watch movie for sleepovers. Blumhouse did a pretty bang-on job with Halloween 2018, I surely have high hopes from this reboot!

As far as the director of the movie is concerned, Zoe Lister-Jones, best known for CBS' sitcom Life in Pieces, has been picked. The American director-actress has previously directed Woman-up and Bandaid. In an interview with Etalk, Tunney said the words Craft fans have been waiting for, "They are still remaking it. Zoe Lister-Jones is writing it. And I may or may not do it. I’m so proud of that movie. It was the first lead I ever had and it’s a movie young girls today still watch at sleepovers. It’s girl power and I’m so proud of it. I’m SO proud of it."

Tons of reboots are coming out this year TBH because originality is dead in Hollywood. Which one are you excited for the most?
