IT: Chapter Two Gets 'R' Rating For 'Disturbing Violent Content' And A lot Of Blood

Director Andy Muschietti has been claiming since forever that the upcoming sequel is going to be really scary and looks like he wasn't kidding at all.

IT Chapter Two, the biggest horror movie coming out this year, is only a month away and we have just learned that it is going to be all kinds of scary and disturbing.

As if fans of horror were not already excited enough, it has been revealed that the movie has received 'R' rating by the MPAA for strong violence, language, and a lot of scary content, as reported by BloodyDisgusting.

'Chapter Two has been rated R for “disturbing violent content and bloody images throughout, pervasive language, and some crude sexual material.' Well, looks like when director Andy Muschietti warned us all saying that the movie is going to be so scary, that people should come to theatres wearing adult diapers, he wasn't just kidding.

And well the recently released full trailer of IT Chapter Two sort of vouched for it anyway! The posters and the last teaser featuring Pennywise as creepy granny were good enough but latest one has fans of horror super stoked!

The Losers' Club is back to Derry to stop Pennywise once again for good to keep their oath and the clown has been expecting them...will the Losers' be able to end IT all?

The trailer lets us in the terrifying world of IT but doesn't give away any major spoilers - kudos to Andy and Warner Bros. for making a sensible horror trailer unlike most movie trailers out there. The clip opens up with flashbacks of the kiddie Losers' Club and we hear Mike saying that he never left Derry. He was there all by himself for 27 years but well, you know what happens every 27 years, right?

'Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “It Chapter Two” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.' James Mcvoy as Bill Denbrough, Jay Ryan as Hanscom, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, Andy Bean as Stanley and James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Bill Skarsgard aka Pennywise is gonna make them all float.

Screenwriter Gary Dauberman says the sequel is "definitely bloodier than the first and it is just as scary, if not scarier. The two movies feel like a complete whole. This feels like a natural progression and extension of the first" and fans of horror CANNOT wait!

Bill, the hottest clown to ever exist, has also spilled some beans about the upcoming movie revealing that Pennywise is going to be spookier in the second and LAST chapter of IT - “He’s scarier and he’s angrier,” Bill told Entertainment Weekly in an interview. “There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film.” So you know, the rating is quite justified!

The 2017 movie based on Stephen King's work was a major success and it not only managed to earn a humongous amount of $700.4 million across the globe but also became one of the highest-grossing movies of the year and the best performing horror movie of all time, which explains the hype around the sequel.

Are you excited for It Chapter Two? IT comes this September 6. In the meantime, check out the trailer below if you haven't already!
