Everything you wished for has come true! Jessica, Angela, Kathy are coming back to Ryan Murphy's loved horror anthology!
Bear with me when I say this, Jessica Lange was the soul of American Horror Story and when she left, the show went to utter shite. When the queen of sass left the show, longtime fans of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology CRIED. What good is the show without the iconic Lange? Constance in Murder House, Sister Jude in Asylum, the supreme Fiona Goode in Coven, and Elsa Mars in Freak Show, Jessica Lange has undoubtedly played one of the most loved and powerful characters in the show and when she left, her absence was deeply felt in all the following seasons and fans prayed for the legend's return every day.
And their prayers were indeed answered! In the last season of the show - Apocalypse, Murphy brought Lange back and the fans were beyond thrilled! The 69-year-old, two time Academy Award-winning actress, resumed her role of Constance in the crossover season between two of the AHS's most loved installments - Murder House and Coven which featured characters from both the seasons. While we all loved Jessica's cameo, we still wished she'd return for a full-fledged role.
Is Jessica returning? SHE IS! According to sources, the queen is returning for the upcoming season of the show! And not only her, but other favorite ladies of American Horror Story - Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates are coming back, too. Imagine a season with Jessica, Kathy, and Angela, like the good old times. Sounds too good to be true? You know what they say, if it sounds toooo good, it is probably fake. Got you! Happy April Fool's!
No, no, don't hate me. What I said wasn't entirely false. Angela previously revealed that she would love to come back. Talking about a possible return and the witches coming back once again, Angela Bassett said, "I heard that. It’s the year of the woman! It’s the year of the woman, female empowerment, I am woman hear me roar. They’re roaring, making noise, and making things happen. Standing strong and voices being appreciated and it’s just interesting. It’s very, very interesting and a lot of fun. Bring the witches back!"
As per Jessica, she might actually be returning! Ryan Murphy recently announced that Emma Roberts and Gus Kenworthy will be playing parts in the 9th season and soon after, he shared a snap of young Jessica Lange! Murphy, the man behind American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Pose, and Feud, right after sharing Gus' picture, shared a picture of Jessica Lange out of nowhere. A picture of young and absolutely gorgeous Jessica was shared by Murphy who captioned it with "Bundled up" and fans are freakinggg out! "Please let it mean what I hope the fucking Supreme is back !!🙌🏻🤔👌🏻❤️" wrote a fan and we couldn't agree more!
We can only hope miss Lange will once again grace her with her presence in American Horror Story until they officially confirm it. Only Gus and Emma have been confirmed to return as of yet but Sarah Paulson, Murphy's favorite, who has played a role in every season, is also expected to return. "I have found a home in the sense that I work for a person who sees me completely, knows my strengths and weaknesses, knows how to push me and keeps throwing me the ball," Paulson said of continuing to work with Murphy.
"Why would you leave something that works? This idea of jumping off one thing just to be available in case something great comes by, that’s like leaving your wonderful mate because you think maybe someone more interesting is out there," she added. The production of the ninth season will begin this summer and Ryan will be writing, directing and Brad Falchuk, Jessica Sharzer, Tim Minear, Dante Di Loreto, and Alexis Martin Woodall will produce the ninth season which currently has an unknown theme.
Evan Peters, who has appeared in all the seasons so far, however, has revealed that he won't be joining the show anytime soon. Speaking to GQ, Evans revealed that playing negative characters is taking a toll on him, "I'm goofy, I'm silly, I like to have fun. I don't like to yell and scream. I actually hate it," he explained. "I think it's disgusting and really awful, and it's been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me. "It's been all a massive stretch for me and really difficult to do. It's hurting my soul and Evan as a person. There's this massive amount of rage that's been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that's been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I'm sick. I don't feel good." That's saying a lot. Hope he recovers soon! Finn Wittrock and Cody Fern might possibly return to the show. Who do you want to see in the next season?
