"I talked to Todd a lot about what else we might be able to do, in general, just to work together, but also specifically, if there’s something else we can do with Joker that might be interesting," Joaquin Phoenix revealed.
Joker has been the talk of the town ever since it released worldwide at the beginning of this month. People have been raving about Joaquin Phoenix's performance, calling the movie dark and disturbing, security concerns, Jared Leto reportedly feeling alienated, there was no shortage of drama and action with 'Joker.'
Joker has been laughing his way to the box office with record-breaking earning thanks to the content and how it beautifully captured the dark side of society. And that's not all.
Many fans have said that Joaquin Phoenix's unreal portrayal as the iconic Joker is as good as Heath Ledger from the Dark Knight series. Well, that's a topic totally up for discussion, but this time, we are actually here with news that both sets of fans would love to hear.
Putting it out there -- Nothing confirmed yet but, there are rumors of a Joker sequel and Joaquin has an answer if we would get to see him again as the iconic Gotham villain.
While speaking to Popcorn with Peter Travers, Joaquin said, "I wouldn’t have thought this is my dream role, but now, honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it. I talked to Todd a lot about what else we might be able to do, in general, just to work together, but also specifically, if there’s something else we can do with Joker that might be interesting. So, it ended up being a dream role. It’s nothing that I really wanted to do prior to working on this movie."
As we said, there is no official confirmation, but the mere fact that Joaquin is willing to put on his red suit again gives up hope that there might just be a Joker sequel that could happen anytime soon.
The sequel is quite possible considering the movie has earned way more than it ever expected and the reviews have been equally great. Would you like to watch Joaquin in Joker 2? Let us know.
Although most people loved Joaquin's character as Joker, Jared Leto is reportedly far from pleased with the new movie. This comes from a Hollywood Reporter article, who reported that the Suicide Squad star and frontman of Thirty Seconds to Mars felt 'alienated and upset' by the move.
This was reportedly because he was looking forward to Warner Bros. having him in further movies as the iconic villain, be it in Suicide Squad sequels or in stand-alone Joker movies. Guess, that's not happening.
Do you think Jared Leto as the Joker was as bad as people claim him to be? Or was it much difficult for him, considering he had to fill in the boots left behind by Heath Ledger?
