Yes, the Mooney's bookstore that Joe managed is, in fact, real without the basement of horrors and well, creepy stalkers.
While you are waiting for Netflix to officially announce You season two, how about a trip to Joe's bookstore?
Yes, the Mooney's is real and you can actually go visit the place where the creepy thriller was filmed and Beck and Joe met except it's not called Mooney's, it goes by Logos Book Store.
Just like the show, the store is located in New York City and if you live anywhere nearby, you need to check it out! And, don't worry about creepy bookstore managers, Logos is a pretty decent and peaceful store with a great collection of books to soothe your inner reader.
Or, if you are more like Beck and gang, you can get some good selfies for your Instagram!
From the inside, the Logos pretty much looks like Mooney's and going there sounds a little creepy, given what happens there in the show, but worry not.
The basement and the glass chamber of horrors where Benji was locked up are NOT a part of the store, they were only added in the show.
The interior and exterior of the store, however, were used for filming the hit Lifetime show which is now a Netflix original. Love the show as much as we do? Go check the store out, it is located at 1575 York Ave, New York.
Also, the store boasts of an 'expanded selection of Bibles & religious titles' and we found it quite amusing because not so 'religious' things went down there and you know it. *wink wink*
As far as the release date of season 2 is concerned, we have an idea. Recently, Netflix's Netherlands account announced days till other Netflix shows like The Politician, The Crown, The End of the F**king World come to Netflix, and they accidentally revealed the release date of You and The Witcher. They deleted it later, of course, but by that time, it was already viral.
According to the tweet, You season 2 comes out in 110 days and The Witcher comes in 97 days. So basically, the release dates of the shows are December 30th and December 17th respectively, as reported by Digital Spy.
Creepy bookstore manager Joe Goldberg aka Penn Badgley is returning to resume his role, looking for another victim, who isn't Beck because well, she is dead.
In a recent interview with ET Online, Penn confirmed that Elizabeth Lail won't be coming back for season two as Joe surely killed her.
When asked which one of his 'kills' was the worst for him to cope with, he replied, “Beck’s death, even though it didn’t happen on camera.” Elizabeth Lail, the actress who played the part, also previously revealed that her character is dead but fans still hoped to see her again in the new season. We will still see her in flashbacks though.
According to showrunner Sera Gamble, that's all the season is going to be about - Joe and his messed up past life. Joe will move from New York to LA.
"We'll be going into Joe's early life in season two, and naturally we want to know more and move around in his entire life. I will say that the whole time we're in the writers' room talking about what that story could be, or what flashbacks or glimpses into his life we might catch, this has been a guiding principle for us; he had a pretty terrible childhood and that does contribute to who he is as an adult," Sera told Cosmopolitan. Will you be watching season 2? We can't wait!
