The Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard case is only getting messier day by day as both the parties are submitting additional proofs accusing each other.
Johnny Depp recently sued his ex-wife Amber Heard for defaming him and filed a lawsuit against her for $50 million. He has now spoken on the matter for the first time. Depp has submitted a personal statement to the court stating that he never abused Amber or any other woman ever, for that matter, and instead, it was his ex-wife who abused and tortured him.
“I have denied Ms. Heard’s allegations vehemently since she first made them in May 2016 when she walked into court to obtain a temporary restraining order with painted-on bruises that witnesses and surveillance footage show she did not possess each day of the preceding week. I will continue to deny them for the rest of my life," reads a piece of the statement obtained by People.
“She was the perpetrator, and I was the victim. While mixing prescription amphetamines and non-prescription drugs with alcohol, Ms. Heard committed innumerable acts of domestic violence against me, often in the presence of a third-party witness, which in some instances caused me serious bodily harm," he added. Meanwhile, Amber's lawyer has denied everything Depp has said and stands by his client.
“The evidence in this case is clear: Johnny Depp repeatedly beat Amber Heard. The increasingly desperate attempts by Mr. Depp and his enablers to revive his career by initiating baseless litigation against so many people once close to him — his former lawyers, former managers, and his former spouse — are not fooling anyone," he said in a statement. "In light of the important work done by the #TimesUp movement highlighting the tactics abusers use to continue to traumatize survivors, neither the creative community nor the public will be gaslit by Mr. Depp’s baseless blame-the-victim conspiracy theories.”
While he's saying that, Depp's attorney has claimed Heard took advantage of the #MeToo movement and defamed Depp to build herself a fancy career and seek sympathy. “Ms. Heard also knew that her elaborate hoax worked: as a result of her false allegations against Mr. Depp, Ms. Heard became a darling of the #MeToo movement, was the first actress named a Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Office, was appointed ambassador on women’s rights at the American Civil Liberties Union and was hired by L’Oreal Paris as its global spokesperson," he revealed.
Amber Heard has also spoken over the defamation case and presented a piece of new evidence claiming that Depp destroyed her $3 million penthouse closet and threatened to kill her. "After becoming enraged, he began to destroy personal property all over the house, including my belongings in my closet," read Heard’s statement as reported by Page Six.
"My sister Whitney was there, so when Johnny lunged to hit me, Whitney placed herself between us. Johnny turned his attention to Whitney, who was standing on the top of a flight of stairs and moved on her. Acting in defense of my sister, as I was scared for her physical safety, I punched Johnny in the face to draw his attention away from her. That was the only time I ever hit Johnny. At that point, house security intervened and separated us."
Amber says Depp threatened to kill her once as well but he must have forgotten it due to his drinking habits. "I'll f-ing kill you, you hear me?" he grabbed her by the hair and slapped her, according to Heard. "Johnny often would not remember his delusional and violent conduct after he came out of his drunk or medicated states...Because I loved Johnny, I had believed his multiple promises that he could and would get better. I was wrong," she added. On one hand, Amber has submitted pictures of her destroyed closet, and on the other, pictures of Depp's severed bloody finger and bruises on his face have emerged and gone viral on the internet.
Johnny Depp is a victim of abuse & not a perpetrator. His abuser often threw things at him, severed his middle finger, hit, punched & kicked him. She cheated on him & had the nerve to go to court and ask for a RO falsely claiming he had abused her. #JohnnyDeppIsInnocent pic.twitter.com/BBVktnUeEw— Andreea #DeppHead of Romania (@bacacov) March 16, 2019
