"I'm so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for. I'm so sick of it."

Greta Gerwig's feminist take on Louisa May Alcott's classic Little Women has debuted its first trailer and it is beautiful in every way! Picking bits from the original movie and scenes that Louisa May wrote, this new adaptation of Little Women, even though set in old times, is progressive and empowering, with romance still intact! With a cast full of the biggest of stars - Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep, the new Little Women movie promises to be one of the best movie releases of the year.

The trailer features Ronan as the lead in the movie aka Jo, Emma as Meg, Eliza Scanlen as Beth, and Florence Pugh as Amy. Meryl Streep is wealthy aunt Josephine and Timothee Chalamet as lover boy Laurie. Greta is serving as the director and has penned down the script of the movie as well. In all, the clip is full of nostalgic elements which bring tears to your eyes.

“We wanted [the trailer] to feel like the movie feels, which is both classical and fresh,” Gerwig revealed in an interview with EW. “We wanted it to feel light on its feet. And even though it does take place in the 19th century, we in no way wanted it to feel like it was something that was past. We wanted it to feel like it was present right now.”

“I wanted it to be both — this is the collective experience and also these are the individual journeys. I think that’s what I love [about] the story and I think that’s what generations of readers have loved about the story," she added talking further about the romance in the movie and how you should get ready to get your heartbroken.

“They’re both so alive and they’re both so talented and they’re so smart and they’re so young. When you put them together it’s like combustion. It breaks my heart every time. Every time.” Sigh!
