A Live Action 'Corpse Bride' Movie In The Making? Fans Are Rooting For It!

A Live Action 'Corpse Bride' Movie In The Making? Fans Are Rooting For It!

Thousands of people are asking for a live-action 'Corpse Bride' starring Bill Skarsgard and Laura Harrier.

Yes, most live-action reboots suck, agreed, but hear me out. Since making live-action reboots of classic movies is the current trend in Hollywood now, thousands of people have taken to their social media to request one movie in particular - Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. And, they also have agreed upon a very particular casting choice - Bill Skarsgard aka Pennywise from IT as Victor and Laura Harrier from BlacKkKlansman as Emily. If you look at the actors, they indeed look similar to the iconic characters Burton created and well if the live-action movie does happen, and Depp and Helena are not up for it, I'm all for Bill and Laura.

Released in 2005, featuring voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, the only two actors Tim Burton knows of, the movie was a major hit and earned over $117.2 million across the globe and was extremely loved by both fans and the critics. Premiered over 14 years ago, the movie is a timeless classic and lately, Burton and Disney have been 'all in' when it comes to making live-action reboots so there is surely a possibility that we might see a live action reboot in the future but as of now, nothing has been confirmed officially yet.

However, Disney has reportedly revealed that they are trying to revive another Burton classic - The Nightmare Before Christmas and possibly make a live action sequel. Revolving around Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town, who accidentally travels to Christmas town and decides to celebrate it and featuring voices of Chris Sarandon, Catherine O'Hara, Danny Elfman, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix, and Ed Ivory, the movie earned about $70 million across the globe but it surely had the potential to do so much more and Disney gets it.

Disney is reportedly now eyeing Nightmare Before Christmas and is planning to 'do something' with it. According to Bloody Disgusting, the studio is planning to make a sequel of the iconic movie which might be a live-action feature film. Disney is in talks currently to figure out what they can do with the old movie. Well, for starters, they can leave the classic movie alone. Or, a Tim Burton style sequel doesn't sound bad either. Live action? Um...

One of the best things about Tim Burton movies is the beautifully crafted characters! You can't help but fall in love with Jack Skellington and Sally or any other character of Burton's movies. There's a very high chance that if the movie is adapted into a live-action along with some guy who is NOT Johnny Depp, the movie will lose its charm. Nightmare Before Christmas is a holiday treasure which we must protect at all costs.

After a span of 26 years, Disney is reportedly looking to work on a sequel which might be a live-action or a stop-motion. Selick has already previously stated that if Tim has a new story to tell and is on board with a sequel, he'll hop on too. We're guessing Burton has greenlit the project after two decades. Do you think a sequel or a reboot or a live-action movie is a good idea? A sequel does sound pretty exciting! Here's to hoping whatever they do does justice to the original.
