Noah will be playing the role of Prince Adam in the upcoming adaptation of the ‘80s toy icon who is known for his bulky ripped image and his blonde bob cut hair.
If you are nicknamed The Most Powerful Man In The Universe, you know he definitely deserves a movie for himself. And who better to bring 'He-Man' movie rather than Sony Pictures and Mattel who now have an update on the much-anticipated movie.
And it has been indeed a long time coming for the superhero who had to wait more than three decades to find his way back to the big screen. According to Variety, Sony Pictures and Mattel Films have set a March 5, 2021, release date for the upcoming Masters of the Universe.
The fantasy-adventure movie will have "Internet's very own boyfriend" and Netflix star Noah Centineo essaying the role of the Most Powerful Man in the Universe. The movie will be based on the 1980s action figures that had paved the way for an animated TV show and a 1987 feature film with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man.
It also starred Frank Langella, James Tolkan, Courteney Cox, and others. Although the movie didn’t manage to follow the path of other successful movies based on toys with a mere $17 million in worldwide box office receipts, the upcoming movie will hopefully look to change that perspective.
The official synopsis of the first movie reads: "When the evil Skeletor (Frank Langella) finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) locates inventor Gwildor (Billy Barty), who created the Key and has another version of it."
"During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie (Courteney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill). Now both He-Man and Skeletor's forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon," it concludes.
Earlier it was reported that Masters of the Universe was going to be released in theatres this Christmas season, however, it has now been pushed back to the spring of 2021. The movie will be directed by Aaron and Adam Nee from a script rewritten by “Iron Man” screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The project was earlier written by David S. Goyer, who is now the executive producer. The producers include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.
Although not much has been revealed about the upcoming project, as it goes further into the process of production, the studio will hopefully reveal more information. But we do know that Noah Centineo will be playing the titular role in the movie. He will be playing the role of Prince Adam in the upcoming adaptation of the ‘80s toy icon who is known for his bulky ripped image and his blonde bob cut hair. He-Man is supposedly the heir to the throne of Eternia.
Noah Centineo became really popular after starring in a couple of Netflix movies including To All the Boys I've Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. He had also made a name for himself with his roles in the final three seasons of the television series The Fosters and the Disney Channel film How to Build a Better Boy.
