Do you have what it takes to stay in the actual Leatherface house in Kingsland, Texas? Well, it's time to find out.
Talk about a horror house! Are you brave enough to 'chill' at the Leatherface house from the film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre? ON SET CINEMA is an ongoing film series that lets fans take their enthusiasm for films a notch higher. They get to watch cult favorites and horror classics at their actual filming locations. And the one that's coming up is the screening of Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in March 2020.
According to Bloody Disgusting, a limited number of fans will be in for a ... treat? On Sunday, March 29 and Monday, March 30, you can watch the Texas Chain Saw Massacre inside the iconic house as well as stay all night if you dare. The house was moved from its original location in the ’90s and is the current home of the Grand Central Café.
Kenny Caperton who is organizing the series explains, “I will be setting up a TV inside the room where the infamous dining room scene took place and we’ll have a Texas Chain Saw-a-thon all night long! …we can watch the original on repeat, or the entire series from start to finish …OR just skip everything and watch The Next Generation over and over again."
"Fans will be able to hang out and sleep wherever they want inside the house …in the hallway where we first see Leatherface emerge from the doorway and smash Kirk in the head with the sledgehammer, or in the room that was filled with bones and chicken feathers discovered by Pam just before she gets snatched up and hung on the hook, or even upstairs where Sally finds Grandpa in the rocking chair. There will also be games (horror games, board games, video games, etc) and of course a BBQ dinner with headcheese on the side! So fill up your chainsaws and get ready to join the family!”
Eager to get on board? Firstly you need to be over the age of 21 years old. Admission will cost about $475. This is inclusive of one overnight stay inside the house. Check in by 4 pm and check out by noon the next day. And it's not just a screening there's also going to be games, BBQ dinner, drinks, snacks and an On Set Cinema event goodie bag. However do note admission does not include sleeping arrangements as "guests must provide their own blankets, pillows and/or air mattresses. The house has restrooms but does not have showers."
