Since it was the first day of school, he wanted his mother to get him a plain orange t-shirt with a sweet message "I will be your friend" written on it to make sure bullied kids don't feel left out.
A school is a place for education, learning, making friends and having the time of your lives. Sure, it has its own ups and downs when it comes to grades and getting rebuked by teachers; but one thing that truly needs to go away from the schooling system is bullying.
And at a time when kindness and caring are of utmost importance, a sweet 6-year-old boy has decided to take matters into his own hands by supporting bullied kids. It all happened when Blake Rajahn was all ready for the first day of school when his mom enquired what kind of t-shirt he would like to wear.
While most kids would have preferred a superhero t-shirt or a cartoon character, Blake had other plans in his mind. Since it was the first day of school, he wanted his mother to get him a plain orange t-shirt with a sweet message "I will be your friend" written on it. As reported by CBS News.
He wanted his new classmates to know that he was always willing to help them out and stand up against bullies.
His mother Nikki Rajahn wrote a Facebook post explaining how it all panned out: "I will make him any shirt he would like. It could have anything- a basketball theme, football, etc. which are all his favorites". And that's when Blake replied, "Will you please make me a shirt that says 'I will be your friend' for all the kids who need a friend to know that I am here for them?"
This was so incredibly kind of you to say, thank you 💙 I will always be your friend.— feminist next door (@emrazz) August 3, 2019
Nikki's post had gone viral and had been liked more than 12,000 times, receiving as many as 1,300 comments and shared over 6,500 times (at the time of publication). Blake's mother had recently started her own small-business called 'Unfading Adornments' where she creates custom-made home goods and various apparel with personalized sayings.
Nikki also revealed in another post that Blake was delighted with the kind of response that his simple gesture got on the internet. She highlighted that Blake "is blown away!" Not only is Blake extremely kind, but he is also extremely modest. Nikki said in her post: "Blake doesn't understand why everyone thinks this is a big deal because he thought everyone thinks like him. Give this boy and award already and of course all of your support."
Following Blake's kind gesture, many people on social media appreciated him. A Facebook user said: Can you make hundreds more so he can share with everyone! But what a blessing and what a difference he will make. Meanwhile, another user wrote: Such a wonderful young man. You have done a great job. BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF!!! Make him (and his friends) these shirts.
