The countdown has begun. The teen witch and her friends are all set to return with an all new adventure!
The wait is over! Well, almost. Your favorite witch on Netflix is returning for another season, which is more like the part two of the first season and I don't understand why they didn't release the whole thing in one go, but well. More episodes = YASS. After the massive success of the first season, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is coming back, more dramatic and darker. And, while we are all desperately waiting for new episodes, Netflix has released the official poster of the second part, along with the first look of what's going to come Sabrina's way.
The poster features Ross Lynch and Gavin Leatherwood staring rather creepily at Kiernan Shipka as she holds the book of the beast in her arms, hinting at a love triangle, which is good news for the ones who love drama and romance. Part two teases a lot of romantic tension in the upcoming installment of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as the first few pictures released by Netflix Sabrina can be seen with her mortal boyfriend and her warlock lover.
The show based on Archie comic's Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, Michelle Gomez, Jaz Sinclair, Tati Gabrielle, Gavin Leatherwood, Adeline Rudolph, Richard Coyle, and Miranda Otto, and has all the elements you can possibly wish to see in a show — romance, horror, witchcraft, and humor and it looks like we are going to get an extra dose of romance and love in the next season. Things are going to get steamy!
In case you don't already know, the show revolves around a half witch and half mortal girl Sabrina, who is in love with a human called Harvey Kinkle, played by Ross Lynch, but when she starts accepting her witchy self and joins a school for witches called the Academy of Unseen Arts, she meets a hot warlock Nicholas Scratch, and things get too complicated. The love triangle teased in the first season will become full-fledged in season two, and Sabrina will find herself confused between both the worlds.
The first teaser images from the upcoming season are here and well, they are all about the love triangle tension. Who will Sabrina choose? The cute mortal or the sexy warlock? Guess we'll have to wait and see but hey, let's hope they don't stretch it much and turn it into a Twilight for witches. You listening, Netflix? It's a NO from me.
Arriving on April 5, the show will feature new faces in addition to the old ones. Angel's Alexis Denisof will be seen in the show as the fiancé of Mary Wardwell, the Madame Satan. The mystery around who is playing The Dark Lord himself still remains but, hey, at least we don't have to wait much to finally see for ourselves. Season two will pick things right from where they left it in the first season's finale.
The production of season two began right after the first one and immediately the dedicated cast and crew of the show started working again. 'Part 2' of the show will have 10 episodes and Sabrina will go through some major changes. "Sabrina definitely changes and shifts a lot. Her growth is very evident and the second season definitely has a different spin on it than the first season. They are very different from each other," Kiernan Shipka told Bloody Disgusting.
Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also recently teased that the upcoming episodes of Sabrina are going to be wild and magical. "I loved the first half of the first season. I think the second half is even more ambitious. It’s a little sexier, it’s a little scarier. I’m just really excited for people to see it. Lots of romance, lots of horror. It’s really good. I’m really excited about it.” Are YOU excited? What do you think about the love triangle in the show?
Well, ready or not, Netflix has already renewed the show for the third and fourth seasons. Announcing the same, Netflix wrote on Twitter, "AND NOW, A MESSAGE FROM SALEM" along with a short teaser which said, "Want more Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Part 2 is coming in April 2019, but that is not all. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has also been renewed for Parts 3 & 4." Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also added, "Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Bros., Netflix, Berlanti Television and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch. And I'm thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina's chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka."
