You Can Now Visit An Island Full Of Friendly Wolves And Exotic Animals For Your Holiday Getaway

Well, now you can at this wonderful sanctuary in Anacortes, Washington. Welcome to the Predators of the Heart sanctuary which allows visitors for an exclusive two-hour Wolf Encounter Journey. You can book the experience through Airbnb too... isn't that neat!? Off to Fidalgo Island then! 

The sanctuary is located at Fidalgo Island, in Skagit County, Washington, located about 60 miles north of Seattle. To the east, it is separated from the mainland by the Swinomish Channel, and from Whidbey Island to the south by Deception Pass. 



 

 



 

 

Their 10-acre wildlife preserve is located in the towering old-growth forest lands of Fidalgo Island. The wolves at the sanctuary share the compound with cougars, bobcats, lynx, hawks, owls, vultures, skunks, opossums, foxes, and a variety of exotic reptiles.

The Predators of the Heart sanctuary claim that they are constantly striving to provide a safe, clean environment. The weather over there is very pleasant and wet through most of the year with only cold light snow in the winters. 



 

 

The sanctuary writes on their website: In addition to housing unwanted exotic species, we pride ourselves in educating the public about responsible animal ownership. Our ambassador animals attend numerous public events every year, and each one has its own story to tell and its own lessons to teach. While each animal has its own unique, sometimes tragic story, they share a common trait: they were all facing an uncertain future and possible death sentence before being adopted by our facility.



 

 

If you happen to pay a visit there, you will be escorted by two wolf ambassadors named Max and Kakoa who will walk alongside you through the wilderness of the sanctuary compound.

You'll also have a human guide to show you around and see you through so don't worry about a thing! With this unique experience, you can receive some priceless hands-on knowledge about wolves and what they're like out in their natural surroundings.



 

 

The ones who have already been and experienced this have taken some truly incredible photos. Oh yeah, speaking of that, there is a special area set up just to take photos that will help you savor many a precious moment between you and the wolves. 



 

 

The Predators of the Heart sanctuary are dedicated to helping all species of exotic animals who, for various reasons have found themselves without a place to live out the rest of their lives. They identify as an animal rescue and preservation establishment.
