Will Ferrell Makes His Kids Watch 'Elf' Every Christmas And We Love This Holiday Tradition

Will Ferrell is crazy about Christmas after all. Recently he revealed that he makes sure he makes his kids watch The Elf with him every holiday season.

Will Ferrell has featured in many comedies like Step Brothers or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and in every role, he has delivered outstanding performances. But nothing has been quite like his movie 'The Elf'. This movie is as heartfelt as it gets and tells the story of how Buddy the Elf finds his way home. This is one of the most go-to family movies during Christmas and it looks like The Elf is a part of Ferrell household too.

In fact, the comedian recently made a sarcastic remark where he joked about how he forces his kids to watch Elf while promoting the release of Daddy's Home 2. In a conversation with E! News, he said, "I think it's always chaotic. There's a lot of screaming and yelling and complaining as to when they get to open their presents. And then it's a mad---I think they each get way too many presents each. We have three boys. And they are opened in 12 minutes. Then, [sarcastically] yeah I force them to watch Elf, 10 times. Ten straight times. It's a marathon, yeah. And then you get to open a present."

Well, it seems certainly illogical if you have to force anyone to watch anything they don't want to. But Ferrell was clearly joking about his statement. But, it might have also been coming from a place of frustration over how quickly his kids burn through their gifts on an average Christmas morning. It almost seems the idea popped into his head at least once before.

For those who haven't watched the movie, the 2003 Holiday comedy stars Will Ferrell as Buddy, a human who finds himself brought to the North Pole by Santa Claus after accidentally being stowed away in St. Nick's sleigh. Buddy grows up in Santa's Workshop and eventually figures out that he is not an Elf.

He goes out to explore New York City to meet his father and falls in love with a young woman called Jovie. If you want to know what happens next, you can watch the movie and we know it will leave a smile on your face.
