Will 'Santa Clarita Diet' Return For Season 4? Fans Of Netflix Zombie-Comedy Are HUNGRY For More!

Fans are pretty certain that the fourth season of Santa Clarita Diet might come on Netflix around February or March of 2020.

When the lives of a couple of regular suburban real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California turns upside down, there are quite a few obstacles. Joel and Sheila Hammond have to deal with the fact that the latter turns into a zombie and starts craving human flesh, reports Screenrant

And if you thought that was bad --- wait there's more! They not only have to deal with the fact that she physically transforms into a zombie, but also deal with the neighbors, cultural norms and adding to it is a potentially mythological mystery.

Santa Clarita Diet is the ideal show for the current Netflix audience and it was proven right with the ratings and the viewership it amassed. It also has a wonderful cast in Drey Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant who star in this Netflix-original series as married realtors.

With season 3 ending on March 2019, fans on one of Netflix's more underappreciated comedies are craving for more. But will there be a season 4? From renewal status to potential released date -- we have got all the deets right here!

*SPOILER ALERT* At the end of season 3, Joel seems to be undead while Abby and Eric are sort of together, and those crazy Serbians are clearly out of the picture. And that means, there's a lot more story for the audience on the Hammonds.

There is also the big cliffhanger that the show needs to address -- Sheila's Mr. Ball Legs crawled into Joel's ear, and Sheila bit him in the last few minutes of season 3. So what happens after this?

Now according to reports, fans believe that the fourth season of Santa Clarita Diet might come on Netflix around February or March of 2020. This is due to the fact that the previous timeframe of the season release dates was around the same time -- Season 1 of the series became available on February 3, season 2 was released on March 23, and season 3 on March 29, reports GoodHouseKeeping.

Although Netflix has not confirmed that the series will be renewed, there's still a very good chance that a potential season 4 is on its way sooner than we thought!

Even fans on Reddit have come up with new theories on what the season 4  could be all about! "He stress eats constantly, so I think he'll end up eating 2-3x more flesh than Sheila meaning WAY more murder," one fan guessed.

While another fan said that Sheila's Mr. Ball Legs crawling into his ear could mean that the creature is controlling Joel. "I think the last line left it an open question whether Joel or Mr. Ball Legs has the wheel. Where is Mr. Ball Legs?"

Meanwhile, another Redditor claimed that Sheila may possibly get pregnant and create an "undead" child!

Recently, the showrunner Victor Fresco spoke toThe Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of a fourth installment. When he was, obviously, asked about whether the show could return for a fourth season, he neither confirmed nor denied anything on its renewal status.

"I could see a scenario where the fourth year is the last year. I sort of imagined it going five years — that seemed about right to me. I think the relationship is interesting and fun and emotional and loving enough that you could want to stay with the Hammonds for a long time because they're wonderful, so there's always stuff there for us to mine."

"The rest is just story work, which we can certainly do. I think we're introducing a huge new storyline for season four if we come back, and our challenge would be to come up with another one for season five, but I have no doubt based on these characters and this life that that would be something we could do. I don't have specifics for what that would be yet, but I have no doubt that we could come up with something really juicy," he concluded.
