Special Piece, Large Seated Jalisco Male, San Sebastian type
Large pottery seated male figure, holding a club over his right shoulder, a bowl in his left hand, resting on his raised knees. Wearing elaborated tassel type ear ornaments, arm bands and noded shoulders. Depicted with an elongated head and large angular nose. Grayish-cream ground with painted red-orange highlights. Scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Right lower leg reattached with break line visible, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A nice example.
